FAQs

  • Is there a cost to attend?

Yes, there is a registration fee for students who are accepted to attend. This cost will be shared with accepted participants. Waivers are available for students who need financial assistance.

  • Do I have to identify as part of the Chicanx/Latinx community to attend?

Not at all! While CASHE is designed to support and uplift students from Chicanx/Latinx backgrounds, students of all identities and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

  • How will I know if I’ve been accepted?

You’ll receive an official invitation email from the CASHE team about three weeks before the conference. The email will include the following steps, required forms, and travel details.

  • Where will students stay during the conference?

Students will stay in university-provided lodging for the weekend. Additional details (including packing lists and roommate information) will be sent with your acceptance.

  • Can I attend if I don’t know anyone else going?

Absolutely. Many students attend CASHE without knowing anyone beforehand. You’ll have opportunities throughout the weekend to build connections and make new friends.

  • Do I need to bring spending money?

The conference covers all meals and activities. However, you may bring a small amount if you’d like to purchase snacks or souvenirs from the WSU Bookstore.

  • Will meals accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. We work with campus dining to provide meals that meet common dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies, etc.). You can share this information on your application.

  • Can I attend if I’m not from Washington State?

CASHE prioritizes students from Washington. However, students from neighboring regions may be considered depending on space. Please contact us before applying if you're unsure.

  • What happens if I’m waitlisted?
